SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS

REMITTALS:

The address for remittals is noted at the bottom to most web pages.

At this time there is no system to accept credit cards nor internet payments of any type. Therefore, all remittals for semi-kits or plans must be made via mail. We accept bank issued cheques, or personal cheques, but only by those over fifty years old.

Make payment issued to: William Kaminsky/PassTime Hobbies.

Payment remittals are not deposited until about three or four days prior to actual shipping. Due to modern banking methods, if thus you do not read of a reduction in your bank account, then either the parcel was not shipped or the original remittal envelope was not received. Often times we get folks who say they are going to mail off something tomorrow, and it never arrives. Then again usually within 24 hours the sender will receive back an E:mail message indicating the shipping date and of any estimated arrival. There have been occasions where the parcel arrived before the estimated shipping arrival date, but that is not my fault. Is best to note at bottom of your remittal just what that is for. Thus you and I will not get confused.

If you mail off an envelope and the remittal is for wrong amount, I will notify you soon afterwards but not ship.

It is certainly best to include a pre-printed mailing label. Therefore if you get it wrong, I did not get it wrong. Sometimes the customer wants the parcel shipped to an address other than what is apparent. Shipping labels are appreciated.

Balsa, plywood and plotter paper all seem to be going up in cost since May 2007. The cost of shipping via the U.S.P.S. went up and in April 2008 International rates almost doubled. Most parcels are shipped via U.S.P.S. as it is most convenient for me, but certain parcels need to go via United Parcel Service, mainly due to their size. If you read a paragraph describing such, it is left to the customer to make an effort to determine the shipping costs. The initial postal zip code is noted, plus any other parameter often required on a U.P.S. shipment in order for the customer to calculate final parcel shipping requirements. This shipping fee needs to be added to the model cost by the customer. If wrong, you will get notified. The price noted in the paragraph, applies only today.

For international customers. I believe that all parcels are sent via air today. There used to be a low cost surface rate to Canada, but it took an extra six months in shipping, the difference was often less than one dollar, and I think it has been eliminated today. A U.S. Customs form needs to be filled out at time of shipping, and if your country requires otherwise, ship a copy of that form with your remittal.

SHIPPING:

A few of those very patient who placed orders are currently being processed using the wood as received and then shipped. But that still leaves those who have not. On certain models, long, wide wood was used on the fuselage sides. If the sides had been cut and stocked quite some time ago, those semi-kits are currently available (like a few from the DeBolt series) today. Others like from the F3A series, well, still looking for yet another source of wood today. Many places claim to have such, but nothing is on their shelves, and standard saying is we will ship when it comes in.......

Certain models are in stock at this time. Not all models are such done, for several of them are huge, and there is limited storage space here. If what you are interested in seems to meet the criteria noted above, ship off an email at this time, and can inform you. But, first read the paragraph pertaining to the model to see if it is in stock, custom cut, or taking reservations. On occasion as mentioned, a certain model will have 70% of the laser cut parts already done, but there needs to be one more trip across town to get the remaining sheets done. Then again, the actual reason only that percentage may have been cut is due to a shortage of certain sized wood. And as for costs, often times like on 1/2 A sized projects, the actual shipping box will weigh more than the wood contents, and that is why the extra cost which seems out of ordinary. It is beeter to combine a couple interesting kits in to one shipment than to ask for separately. Then too, on kits like the big Cessna 170, there just is no extra space in the box for another semi-kit model. It is tight, and best to inquire before considering then.

Parcels are most often shipped out on Monday afternoons, for this is when I happen to go by the place that accepts the boxed parcels. There is zero such shipping counters within this city.

So, please decide. Certain parcels can be shipped via U.S.P.S and thus save a bit. Whereas others MUST go via U.P.S. due to extra length or extra weight. Those long wood side models require long boxes also, to be authentic, but those long boxes are only available during seasons containing special events (Easter, Christmas, Halloween, etc) , for they come from a local supermarket display.

On your shipping label. Recently it I got a note from a rather outraged customer. He had to come up with $16 in extra charges. Seems he did not read fully the shipping label that was sent with order. For the Zip Code address was off by one digit. Correct city etc, but as the shipper goes by the Postal Zip code, he got charged for deliveing to wrong address and then a search and forwarding cost. Not my fault you understand, for I used his label onna box. So read what you just printed. Hopefully it will be to same place as letter arrived from.

Don't forget to include a shipping label

 NO PARTS?

Certain models are in stock at this time. Not all models are such done, for several reasons. If you mail off an envelope and do not receive a notice of shipping, good possibility that the parcel has not been sent yet. Simplest thing to do from your end, is to telephone your local bank or whoever is responsible for the original cheque. Ask them if funds have been removed from your account. If you sent in a cheque a month or two in advance of the issuance of the semi-kit, then do not expect that simple slip of paper to be deposited until a few days prior to shipping. Deposit shows up on a Tuesday telephone call to your local bank? Ask: When did your cheque number 2484 get deposited and cleared? If you receive a date, then you parcel must be in the mail someplace. That cheque was probably deposited on Thursday or later here. The parcel ought to show up at your door about the following Friday then. I dunno, but seems EVERYTHING takes a 3-5 days to ship, and then you do not receive it until about 4 PM. So don't get over anxious, and for those receiving a parcel via United Parcel Service, they often note a shipping tracking number to which you can complain to them about. You may also have received notice  2 or 3 days AFTER the mailing of your parts. Then by the time you receive and read e:mail message, it could very well be in your hands.

If you want to be kept informed or have other questions, be sure to write down any e:mail address you use on the order page also. You may have sent several here beforehand, but those get confused along will all the others, and may have been bleeped out since your first contact. Need a new one now.

Best thing here is just to watch your local bank account for a mail withdrawal time and date.
